     Nelle Bertine Eriksdatter Vik died on 25 September 1949 at Clarkfield Village, Yellow Medicine, Minnesota, USAB,G, at age 76 after being hit by a car.1,8 She was buried at Clarkfield Cemetery, Clarkfield, Yellow Medicine, Minnesota, USAB,G.9
     She was a midwife. The photo shows Oline, her sister Nelle, Alma and Bertha Henden and Bertine Waldrof in 1905.

"Nelle, 6th of the 7 Sisters, married Andrew Anderson [sic], came to America in the 1890's and he was a shoemaker in Clarkfield until his retirement. They had no children. One adopted daughter, Bertine (Mrs. Lefty Becker) living in Mpls. Nelle was the twin." -- History of my mother's side of the family, Ragnvald Vick (1965.)10

"Nelle was a tiny woman, who acted as a midwife in Clarkfield, MN. Nellemoste and Skomaker were married in Norway but took the ship for America right away because Nelle's father, Erik Grønevik, did not like Skomaker as a son-in-law. (Letter dated 1980 from Mrs. Arden Jurgenson.) She and her husband raised a baby, Bertine, to adulthood.
