"Ole was a carpenter. When the family lived in Minneapolis, he worked for the Soo Line Railroad, building the insides of railroad cars. After his wife died in 1914, he moved the children to Clarkfield to be nearer other family members. However, he and his sisters-in-law, Johanne and Nelle, didn't get along, so at one time he took a farm near Nevis, Minnesota. After they heard wolves howling in the woods he figured it was not a safe place for children, so they moved back to Clarkfield, where he built houses." -- Betty Stewart.10
