Mary Both Mary's birthdate and place vary, and sources aren't primary. The 1900 census gives February of 1850; otherwise sources agree on 1847 but it's not till her death certificate that we get a date.

Her birthplace varies between France and Germany. I suspect she was born in Alsace-Lorraine or other territory that changed hands between her birth and death. on 15 February 1847.10,8,7,6,5 She was born on 15 February 1847 at GermanyB,G, daughter of Jacob Both.3
