Agnes Mayer married Philip Scheuermann, son of Catherine Sherman, on 12 November 1851 at Copper Falls, Keweenaw, Michigan.4,5,1 Agnes Mayer and Philip Scheuermann moved circa 1855 from Copper Falls, Michigan, to Missouri.2 Agnes and Philip moved in 1859 or 1860 from Missouri to Quincy Township, Michigan.2 Agnes Mayer and Philip Scheuermann had six daughters. Agnes Mayer died in the sinking of the Steamer Sunbeam, Lake Superior on 28 August 1863; in a storm.6 There is a headstone in Agnes's memory at Hancock Catholic Cemetery, Hancock, Houghton, Michigan, but her body was lost at sea.5
