     John R. Barber was born circa 29 June 1810 at Stark, Ohio, USA.3,1,4,5,2 He was the son of John Barber and Judith Hall.6,7

     John R. Barber married Rebecca Hartgrove, daughter of Mr. (?) Hartgrove, on 29 December 1831 at Ohio, USA.8,1,9 John R. Barber bought a land patent for 80 acres in section 4, the east half of the southeast quarter of township 15, range 21 in Town of Plymouth, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, USA, on 1 August 1849.10

Charles Elmer Zanzig thinks that he remembers that the Barbers are connected somehow with the Diamond Match Co. Diamond was founded in Akron Ohio, and there are certainly Barbers involved with it.11
     John R. Barber died on 12 January 1881 at Town of Plymouth, Wisconsin, USA.12,3 He was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Town of Plymouth, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, USA.13
     John's obituary was published in the Plymouth Reporter on 20 January 1881 at Plymouth, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, USA.4
