     James L. Barber married Amanda Cutshans, daughter of Mr. (?) Cutshans, say 1849 at USA.1 James L. Barber bought a land patent for the east half of the southwest quarter of section 4, township 15, range 21E of the 4th principal meridian, 80 acres in Town of Plymouth, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, USA, on 1 August 1849.6


     "Sheriff's Sale: By virtue of two Executions issued from the Circuit Court for the county of Milwaukee, I have this day levied upon, and will offer for sale at public auction, at the Sheriff's office in the village of Sheboygan, on Friday the 7ty day of September, at two o'clock P. M., all the right, title and interest of James Barber, in and [t]o the following described piece or parcel of Town of Plymouth, Wisconsin, USAand, to with: The east half of the south-west quarter of section 4, township 15, range 21. --n23w6 G.      James L. Barber died on 20 September 1885 at Town of Plymouth, Wisconsin, USA, at age 67.9,3
