"Peder Olson, b. 1782, died age 93 in 1875, was a well-built, large man, especially capable in all physical feats, likeable and full of fun. He was recruited into service and for the most part was away during the years 1807-14. When he came home, he had been a petty officer in the infantry. Then he became sheriff in Stryn's parish (?) following R. Kirkhorn 1829-53. He was married in 1814 to Miss Else Katrine Tonning, daughter of "citizen" Ola P. Tonning and wife, Maren, nee Abelseth. She was then about 35 years of age. Else died at age 66 in 1847.
