Mons Anderson Henden was born on 16 August 1882 at Myrold (probably), Stårheim, Eid, Sogn og Fjordane, NorwayB,G.2,3,4 He was the son of Anders Rasmusson Myrold and Anne Abrahamsdatter Henden.2 Mons Anderson Henden was christened on 1 October 1882 at Vereide, Gloppen, Sogn og Fjordane, NorwayB,G.3

He was a journeyman painter (malersvend) in 1900 at NorwayB,G.4 He was a painter.7

"Mons emigrated to America in 1903. His parents received letters till 1911, after that he disappeared and could not be found." -- Arild Henden, 2004.8 He was a railroad laborer, part of the Soo labor crew (apparently) on 28 February 1912.9

Martin Anderson Henden was registered for the draft on 12 September 1918 at Tacoma, Pierce, WashingtonB,G; Martin is described as medium height and build, blue eyes, brown hair. His nearest relative is Anna Henden in Bergen, Norway. He is a painter, a declarant alien.10

I believe that Martin is Mons--Martin gives Mons's identical birthdate as his own. Mons seems to have hired on with the Soo line (his uncle Ole was a carpenter with the line), gone to Alberta for a bit, returned to the US to Tacoma, and gone to work as a painter in the Todd Shipyards.11
