     Kenneth Alf Solberg was born on 17 April 1951 at Staten Island, New York, Richmond County, New York, USAB,G.1,3 He was the son of Alf Mathias Solberg and Mildred Kirchner.2

     Kenneth Alf Solberg married Jo Ann Meeker on 17 November 1973 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai, Idaho, USAB,G, at age 22.4,2 Ken Solberg and Jo Ann Meeker were divorced, but remained good friends.4
     Ken Solberg died on 5 March 2005 at Spokane, Spokane, Washington, USAB,G, at age 53 of a heart attack.3

Ken Solberg passed away at his home in Spokane, Washington on Saturday, March 5, from a heart attack. He leaves behind his daughters, Kristen and Griffen, good friend JoAnn Solberg, mother Mildred Solberg, all of Coeur d’Alene, sister Kathy Alden of Olympia, Washington, sister Karen Riebe of Houston, Texas, a good friend Karen Carson of Spokane, and several nieces and nephews. His father, Alf Solberg, preceded him in death in July 2003.

Ken was born in Staten Island, New York, on April 17, 1951, to Alf and Mildred Solberg. He moved to Coeur d’Alene with the family in 1952 where he grew up and attended various public schools. Ken graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1969, attended North Idaho College, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Boise State University in 1974. He was employed at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane at the time of his death.

Ken loved the outdoors where he, Kristen, and Griffen spent time camping and enjoying the lake. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and floating the river. Ken loved his girls and was proud of the beautiful, young women they had become. They in turn admired their dad and were proud of his accomplishments. He lived life to the fullest. His rich sense of humor, love of a good joke, and noted gift of helping people through his work will be missed.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 10, at 1:00 PM at Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Rd., in Coeur d’Alene. Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be made to The Guild School (affiliated with The Northwest Pediatric Cardiology Center), 2118 W. Garland Avenue, Spokane, Washington, 99205."3
