Bess McCord, 64, of Stromsburg, passed away on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center in Osceola, following a six-week struggle with cancer.
Bess was born Jan. 28, 1946, in Stromsburg to Wayne and Anna (Burg) Sisty. She attended Stromsburg Public School and was a member of the graduating class of 1964. She spent most of her adult life living in York and Stromsburg.
Bess is survived by her son, Mark Collingham and his wife, Cheri, of York; a daughter, Wanda Spencer and her fiancee Michael Johnson of Stromsburg; six grandchildren, Angel Collingham of Germany, Samantha Collingham of Wahoo, Sidney Spencer of Stromsburg, Chase, Jude and Crew Collingham of York; one great-grandson, Jayden of Germany; one brother, Burdette Sisty and wife, Cheryl, of Stromsburg; one niece, Michelle Pruter and her husband, Allan, of Stromsburg; cousins and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and an infant grandson, Jonas Collingham.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at 2 p.m., at the Stromsburg Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Spearow officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials to the family are suggested in lieu of flowers."3
