Charles Frank Zanzig was born on 3 August 1858 at Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.3,4,5 He was the son of Johann (Friedrich) Ludwig Zanzich and Johanna Sophia (Henriette) Zanzich.2,1

Charles Frank Zanzig married Sophia Margaret Schultz, daughter of J. Charles Schultz and Margaret Kratzer, on 26 September 1882 at McGregor, Clayton, Iowa, USA, at age 24; the marriage license was dated 31 Aug. 1882, witnessed by Charles Kurz.1,3
Charles Frank Zanzig died on 3 February 1934 at Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at age 75.6 He was buried on 6 February 1934 at Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.2 His probate was cleared on 19 October 1943 at Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.7
He was a butcher's apprentice in 1870.8 He operated a barber shop in 1876 at McGregor, Clayton, Iowa.9 Compare him and Charles Moeller; they may be the same person; C. F. Zanzig was also said to be a barber, and his 1880 census is missing. Johanna Mueller was his mother's sister. I propose these two men are the same person, but if so C. F. was enumerated twice in 1870, once as Moeller, once as Zanzig. on 16 June 1880.10 Charles Frank Zanzig was the owner/president of Standard Glove Works (later, under his son Elmer, Standard Awning and Specialty Co.), a railroad clerk or agent, a master barber and a US gauger at Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.2

Children of Charles Frank Zanzig and Sophia Margaret Schultz
