     Ephraim H. Barber was born circa 1844 at Ohio, USA.1 He was the son of John R. Barber and Rebecca Hartgrove.1
     Ephraim H. Barber died on 1 June 1865 at Cold Harbor, Hanover, Virginia, USA, mortally wounded in the abdomen at Totopotomoy Creek (in Hanover County) on June 1. He remained on the field until morning when he crawled back to his company, but expired within a few hours.3,4,5 He was buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Town of Plymouth, Sheboygan, Wisconsin, USA.6
