"Valborg was 'a poor beauty' whom Ola Martin Vik met at the P.Frimann estate in Davik, later married, had one son, Peder Elvin, who died at age 22. Ola Martin died at age 44. Valborg married Peder Karolus Maurset, had my grandfather, Ola Olai Martin Pederson Vik. Valborg was 37 years old when Ola was born. My great grandfather has the "Maurset" last name, not Vik. Arne says that "Maur' means "ant". Marta & Knut Jacobson, owners of the Vik farm in 1986 when I visited Norway, is a Maurset. A relative of hers bought the farm when Ola M.P.Vik sold it after he returned from Canada. Date unknown." -- Orien Vick.2
