James Forrester married Maggie Young, daughter of John Young and Alison Douglas, on 14 August 1896 at The Manse, New Monkland, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland, UKB,G.6 James Forrester was a journeyman painter in 1896.6 He began military service on 18 April 1916 at Montréal, Québec, CanadaB,G, in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force.7 He was a painter in 1916.7
