Lawrence Elmer Schultz was born on 8 July 1885 at McGregor, Clayton, Iowa, USAB,G.1,3,4 He was the son of Albert A. Schultz and Josephine Bertschinger.1,2
Lawrence Elmer Schultz married Mabel I Ricklef, daughter of Rudolph Ricklef, on 12 October 1920 at McGregor, Clayton, IowaB,G, at age 35.1 Lawrence Elmer Schultz was a carpenter for a railroad on 12 April 1930 at McGregor, Clayton, IowaB,G.5 He was a bridge carpenter for a railroad on 23 April 1940 at McGregor, Clayton, IowaB,G.6
Lawrence Elmer Schultz died on 26 March 1947 at age 61.3
"His two older children, Harvey and Lawrence, are listed in the Osage Court House as being born in Osage. The doctors of that day went to the court house themselves to give information for public record of the children they helped bring into the world. The problem was they made the trip to the court house infrequently and relied on their memory for accurate records. Lawrence was listed as a twin with a brother named Elmer, when in fact he was not a twin, Elmer was his middle name." --Virginia Schultz Faktor, Albert Schultz Genealogy, about 2013
In my opinion, because there is an Albert Leonard born the same week who also lived to adulthood, it's more likely the doctor confused Lawrence Elmer with Albert Laurence and got the parents mixed up. --BJZ, Oct 2018 in 2013.7
