Phillip John Hoefling began military service on 13 August 1943 at Camp Edwards, Barnstable, Massachusetts, USAB,G, in the supply depot.4 He ended military service as a corporal in the HQ Company of the 3rd Battalion of the 32nd Infantry Division (the Red Arrow Division) in World War II. He saw service in Korea, and was separated on 5 December 1945 at Fort Sheridan, Lake, Illinois, USAB,G.5
Phillip John Hoefling died on 4 June 1993 at Prescott, Yavapai, Arizona, USA, 34.540000, -112.4685025B,G, at age 83 of a heart attack while golfing.1,6 He was cremated at Cottonwood, Yavapai, Arizona, USA, 34.732222,-112.018611B,G, his ashes were scattered by his son and daughter-in-law at the same place on Mingus Mountain as Olive's were.7
